As communicated by Microsoft, SharePoint 2013 workflows will retire on 2 April 2026.

Kindly share the steps to identify the list of all 2013 workflows associated with the tenant.

Once we have this information, we will proceed with the necessary actions to address them before the expiration.

    Hi @Kapil Jindal

First, I’d like to clarify that this is a user‑to‑user support forum. Moderators participating here do not have access to backend systems, nor can we directly intervene in Microsoft product functionality. Our role is limited to providing technical guidance and sharing best‑practice recommendations based on reported issues, requests, and scenarios.

Based on my research, the Workflow 2013 Assessment tool is currently the only Microsoft‑recommended and officially supported method to inventory SharePoint 2013 workflows across the entire tenant in an efficient and comprehensive way.

I have also identified an alternative approach, manually checking workflows via SharePoint Designer. However, this method should be considered supplementary only. On its own, it is not sufficient to fully assess usage, risk, or business impact, particularly in preparation for the SharePoint 2013 workflow retirement on April 2, 2026.

Regarding the Workflow 2013 Assessment tool, could you please confirm whether you are encountering any issues while using it, or if you are seeing any errors during execution?

This information will help us better understand your situation and provide more targeted assistance.

Please understand that our initial reply may not always immediately resolve the issue. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

To identify all SharePoint 2013 workflows in a Microsoft 365 tenant, use the Microsoft 365 Assessment tool and its Workflow 2013 assessment capability.

    1. Run the Microsoft 365 Assessment tool for workflows
      • Use the Workflow 2013 Assessment tool described at Workflow 2013 Assessment tool.
      • Configure it to scan the tenant for SharePoint 2013 workflow usage.
      • The scanner will enumerate SharePoint 2013 workflows across site collections and sites.
    2. Generate and review the Power BI Workflow Report
      • After the scan completes, open the Power BI Workflow Report generated by the tool (see Power BI Workflow Report).
      • This report provides, per tenant/site collection/site:
        • A list of all SharePoint 2013 workflows detected.
        • Recency and volume of usage for each workflow.
        • Lists, libraries, and content types that use SharePoint 2013 workflows.
        • A Power Automate upgradability score indicating whether detected actions can be upgraded to Power Automate flows.
    3. Use the report to build the remediation list
      • Export or filter the report to obtain the full inventory of SharePoint 2013 workflows.
      • Use the usage and upgradability information to prioritize which workflows to migrate or retire before 2 April 2026.
    4. Plan migration
      • After identifying the workflows, follow the migration guidance in "Migrate from classic workflows to Power Automate flows in SharePoint" (linked from the modernization article) to replace SharePoint 2013 workflows with Power Automate or other supported solutions.
