Additional features, settings, or issues not covered by specific Microsoft Teams categories
Dear @Xia Gu,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Based on your description, you’re currently using Microsoft Teams chat-only, which means you don’t yet have a Team (workspace). Chats are just conversations, while Teams are full workspaces with files, apps, and tools like Tasks (Planner).
Here is how to create a Team (workspace). You can follow the guidance in this article:
Create a team from scratch in Microsoft Teams
How to assign tasks once your Team exists:
Go to a Channel (usually “General”)
Click + (Add a tab)
Select Tasks by Planner and To Do
Choose: Create a new plan
Assign tasks to team members
If you cannot create Team via following steps above, maybe team creation is restricted by your organization. You can try to ask your IT admin to enable Team creation or create the Team for you or they can check if you don’t have the correct license.
I hope information above can meet your expectations, if you have any other questions, leave the comment below so I can support you more effectively.
