How do i create a team workspace on teams? i only have chat grous

I am trying to set up teams for my work, i heard there are app features such as assign tasks, right now i only have chatting feature, no app options, please help.

    Based on your description, you’re currently using Microsoft Teams chat-only, which means you don’t yet have a Team (workspace). Chats are just conversations, while Teams are full workspaces with files, apps, and tools like Tasks (Planner).

    Here is how to create a Team (workspace). You can follow the guidance in this article:

    Create a team from scratch in Microsoft Teams

    How to assign tasks once your Team exists:

    Go to a Channel (usually “General”)

    Click + (Add a tab)

    Select Tasks by Planner and To Do

    Choose: Create a new plan

    Assign tasks to team members

    If you cannot create Team via following steps above, maybe team creation is restricted by your organization. You can try to ask your IT admin to enable Team creation or create the Team for you or they can check if you don’t have the correct license.
