After a reset, Office Home 2024 must be reinstalled and reactivated; it does not automatically restore.
Use these steps:
- Reinstall Office Home 2024
- Go to the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services.
- Sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to purchase or redeem Office Home 2024.
- Under Services & subscriptions, locate Office Home 2024.
- Select Install (or Install on this device) next to Office Home 2024 and download the installer.
- Run the downloaded setup file and follow the prompts to complete installation.
- Activate Office
- Open Word or another Office app after installation.
- When prompted, sign in with the same Microsoft account used above.
- Office should show as activated under File > Account.
If Office apps are missing (for example Outlook, Access, or Publisher) or Office shows Try / Buy / Activate after a push-button reset, reinstalling Office as above restores the missing apps and activates Office again.
If installation fails or Office still does not work, first uninstall any incorrect or trial Office versions from Settings > Apps > Installed apps, restart the PC, and then repeat the reinstall steps from the Services & subscriptions page.
