I uninstalled MS Office 365, rebooted the computer, put in the code e-mailed to me, and nothing happened. I don't see that it was even installed on my PC. I put in my payment method, and it took that. So what went wrong?

I think code only binds the license to ur account, it never puts any Office bits on disk. Win+R→services.msc→stop/start ClickToRun→reboot→open the same account’s services page and hit Install, that’s where Office 2024 actually comes down.

You have to redeem the product key for Office 2024 in a Microsoft account. Did you do that successfully? In that case, you should be able to complete the installation using your account at https://account.microsoft.com/services.

Entering the product key or payment method alone does not install Office 2024. The product must be associated with a Microsoft account and then installed from that account.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Verify the correct Microsoft account
      • Go to https://setup.office.com.
      • Sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used when redeeming the product key or making the purchase.
      • Complete any remaining steps on that page (such as entering the product key) until the My Office Account page appears with the account email and an Install button.
    2. Install Office from Services & subscriptions
      • After the product is associated, go to the Services & subscriptions page for that Microsoft account (for home products this is linked from setup.office.com / My Office Account).
      • Locate the Office 2024 product under Services & subscriptions.
      • Select Install (or Install on this device) to download the installer.
      • Run the downloaded setup file and follow the prompts to complete installation.
    3. If the Install button does nothing
      • If the Install button is greyed out, the subscription may be expired (for Microsoft 365 subscriptions). Renew it if needed.
      • If clicking Install does nothing:
        • Try again using an InPrivate/Incognito window:
          1. Right‑click the browser icon on the taskbar and select New InPrivate window / New incognito window.
          2. Go to https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps and sign in with the same Microsoft account.
          3. Select Install, then Install again.
        • When prompted by the browser, choose Run (or the equivalent) to start the installer.
    4. If installation still fails
      • Restart the PC and try the install again from the account’s Services & subscriptions page.
      • If there was an error message with a Learn more link during install, select it for specific troubleshooting.
      • If no link was shown, use the guidance in Troubleshoot installing Microsoft 365 or Office to fully uninstall any partial installs and then reinstall.

These steps ensure the payment and product key are correctly tied to the Microsoft account and that Office 2024 is actually downloaded and installed on the PC.
