    Hi @H_N

I hope you’re having a great day. Thank you for reaching out regarding the issue with the Stocks data type in Excel no longer working.

Based on my research, several other users have reported experiencing the same behavior. I’ve also tested this on my end and can confirm that I’m seeing the issue as well. At this time, there has been no official announcement, service advisory, or confirmed fix published by Microsoft, so there is currently no ETA available for full service restoration.

Given this situation, I strongly recommend contacting your organization's IT administrator and asking them to report the issue through the Microsoft Admin Center. This helps Microsoft track, prioritize, and investigate service-related problems more effectively.

    Steps for the IT Admin:

Submitting the issue through this process allows Microsoft to investigate further and, if necessary, open a service incident for broader visibility and status updates.

As an additional option, you can also submit feedback directly to the Microsoft product team from within Excel by going to Excel > Help > Feedback (Send Feedback) and reporting the problem. This ensures your experience is shared directly with the product team for consideration in future updates.

Excel’s Stocks data type and the STOCKHISTORY function use online financial data provided by LSEG Data & Analytics through Microsoft’s services. If prices are not refreshing, it means Excel cannot currently retrieve data from that online source.

The available information only specifies that:

    • Stocks data is delivered by LSEG Data & Analytics.
    • The Stocks and Geography data types are “linked data types” that depend on an online connection.
    • Data can normally be refreshed by right‑clicking a cell with the linked data type and selecting Data Type > Refresh.

There is no information in the provided material about outage status or when servers will be back up. For timing of service restoration, the only option is to wait and periodically try Refresh, or use alternative data sources until the online service resumes normal operation.
