How can I change PARAGRAPH --> LINE & PARAGRAPH SPACING --> back to "pt" from "px"?

While dealing with another issue after a recent Word 2025 update, I discovered that my Paragraph Line & Spacing setting had changed to "px" rather than "pt" and I need to change it back. I've tried changing it in the boxes, but it reverts to px every time. Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hello @Perri Morgan

    I hope you're having a nice day.

Based on your description, here are some steps you may want to try adjusting how Word displays measurement units:

    • In Word, go to File > Options.
    • Select Advanced, then scroll to the Display section.
    • Set Show measurements in units of to Points.
    • Under the same section, uncheck Show pixels for HTML features.

    • Select OK, then close and reopen Word.

If the issue persists, please try these following next steps:

Run Office Repair from Control Panel

    • Close all office apps completely.
    • Go to Control Panel > Program > Programs and Features
    • Right click on the Microsoft Office you've installed > Change.

    • Select Quick Repair first (fast and doesn’t require internet).
    • If the issue persists, run Online Repair (requires internet and takes longer).

    Reinstall Office

If the problem persists, try reinstalling Office after uninstalling it. You can follow Microsoft's office guide:

Please let me know whether these steps resolve the issue, and I’ll be happy to assist you further. Thank you for reaching out!

Setting the "Show measurements in units of" to "Points" will cause all measurements to display in points, including margins, indents, sizes of pictures, etc. That would be unusable. Leave that setting as "Inches" or "Centimetres" according to your preference.

Do clear the check box for "Show pixels for HTML features", which will stop the display of "px" in line spacing while leaving the other measurements in the desired units.
