I am totally locked out of my email account.

I do not have an authenticator and have forgotten my password and my recovery email is no longer available. I need to speak with someone at Microsoft but finding a support number that isn't just an automated system telling me me to do all the things I can't do and have tried to do is impossible

Hi, I'm Bernard. I'm happy to help!

Kindly follow the steps provided by Q&A Assist. If the issue persists, you may reach Microsoft Accounts and Billing support by following the steps below:

    Go to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact

In the search bar, type your issue, then press Enter.

Scroll down to the bottom and select the blue button "Contact Support"

Because the password, authenticator, and recovery email are all unavailable, only the official automated recovery and support channels can be used; no one at Microsoft can manually reset the account outside these processes.

    Use these steps:

    1. Try standard account recovery first
      • Go to Recover your account: https://account.live.com/password/reset
      • Enter the Outlook/Hotmail address and follow the prompts.
      • If the email/phone options shown are not usable or not recognized, choose I don’t have any of these and proceed to the recovery form.
    2. Use the Microsoft account recovery form
      • Before filling it out, review the guidance in Help with the Microsoft account recovery form.
      • Make sure there is a working email address (can be a friend’s or a new Outlook.com address) where Microsoft can contact about the request.
      • Complete the form from a device and location previously used to sign in, if possible, and provide as much accurate information as possible.
      • Submit the form here: Account recovery form (linked from the guidance). Microsoft reviews and responds within about 24 hours.
    3. If the username or password is not recognized
      • Follow My username and password have stopped working:
        • Use Recover your account and verify the email address spelling and domain (for example, .com vs .co.uk).
        • If still seeing “We couldn’t find an account with that username,” use the Contact support button in that article to reach a support advocate and explain that the username has stopped working.
    4. If the account is locked (no “Next” button when signing in)
      • Follow Microsoft account has been locked:
        • Use the link shown on the sign-in page that begins with aka.ms/ and complete the account reinstatement form.
        • A Microsoft Online Safety agent will review it and contact by email. Do not submit multiple requests, as that can slow the response.
    5. Contacting a real person at Microsoft
      • For Outlook.com-specific help, use the Still need help? section in Unblock my Outlook.com account:
        • If sign-in is possible on any account, open Outlook.com, select Help, enter the issue, then scroll to Still need help? and choose Yes to reach support.
        • If sign-in is not possible, use the alternate contact link provided in that section.
      • For general Microsoft account and billing issues, use Account & Billing Help from the same article.

    Important security limitations:

    • If two-step verification was turned on and none of the security methods (phone, email, authenticator) are accessible, support agents are not allowed to bypass verification, send custom reset links, or change account details. In that case, only successful completion of the automated recovery/reinstatement forms can restore access.
