Hi!

So I have this problem with signing in and I would like to ask if someone could help me with it?

When I press the sign in button it starts to load, but then it says there is no internet connection, even though there is internet on the laptop. I tried restarting the WiFi router and the laptop too but nothing helped.

What should I do or try to make it work?

    Hello Molli Pintér,

I'm sorry you are running into this. The "no internet connection" toast in the Minecraft sign-in window is a bit misleading — your laptop's internet is clearly fine, so what is most likely failing is the launcher itself reaching Microsoft's authentication servers (login.live.com, account.microsoft.com, api.minecraftservices.com).

Before suggesting fixes, a few details would help narrow this down:

    • Which Minecraft are you signing into — Bedrock Edition, Java Edition, or the unified Minecraft Launcher app from the Microsoft Store?
    • A screenshot of the exact error window if possible.
    • Are you on home Wi-Fi, or a school / work / public network?
    • Any third-party antivirus, firewall, or VPN installed?

In the meantime, a few things commonly behind this symptom that are worth trying:

    1. If you have a third-party antivirus or VPN running, temporarily disable it and try the sign-in again.
    2. If you are on school or work Wi-Fi, try a phone hotspot instead.
    3. Check your system date and time are correct (Settings > Time & language > Date & time, with "Set time automatically" on).
    4. If the above does not help, reinstalling the Minecraft Launcher from the Microsoft Store.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot the “no internet connection” message when trying to sign in to Minecraft with a Microsoft account on Windows 11:

    1. Confirm Windows can sign in online
      • On the Windows sign‑in screen, make sure the device is actually online. Select Network on the lock screen and connect to Wi‑Fi or Ethernet as described in the Windows sign‑in troubleshooting article.
      • If using Wi‑Fi and the signal is weak, temporarily connect the PC directly to the router with an Ethernet cable.
      • If the PC is already on Ethernet, unplug and firmly reinsert the cable so it clicks into place.
      • Test the internet from another device on the same network to confirm the connection is stable.
    2. Restart Windows
      • Restart the PC completely. If Windows shows that updates are available, choose Update and restart so any pending updates that might affect sign‑in or networking are installed.
    3. Check for security software or VPN interference
      • If a third‑party antivirus or VPN is installed, temporarily disable or uninstall it and try signing in again. Similar issues with downloads and connectivity have been resolved by adjusting or removing third‑party antivirus.
    4. Try Safe Mode with Networking
      • If the problem persists, start Windows in Safe Mode with Networking and test sign‑in:
        1. Select Power > Restart from the sign‑in screen.
        2. When the Choose an option screen appears, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
        3. After restart, select 5 or press F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.
      • In Safe Mode, open the Minecraft launcher and try Sign in with Microsoft again. If it works here, the issue is likely caused by a driver, service, or third‑party software that only runs in normal mode.
    5. Test with a different Windows account
      • On the Windows sign‑in screen, choose another local or Microsoft account if available, or select Other user and sign in with different credentials.
      • Once signed in with that account, try the Minecraft launcher again. If it works, review the original account’s settings and installed apps (especially security or network tools) for conflicts.

If none of these steps resolve the issue and the device still reports no internet only inside the Minecraft/Microsoft sign‑in flow, use the Microsoft account sign‑in helper and related support options to check for broader Microsoft account sign‑in problems.
