I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling and updating, but the toggle for green screen is not available in Microsoft Teams. I used to have the option, but something changed when I installed a new version recently. When I use Zoom, I'm able to use a Green Screen.

Desktop, just updated to the latest version.

Does the issue occur on other devices or only this one?

I have only tried it on this device. It previously worked before I uninstalled/reinstalled a few weeks ago.

Are you checking the option with the camera turned on?

Yes

In the meantime, please update Teams, restart the device, and ensure that your camera and GPU drivers are up to date

Green screen in Teams is a built‑in feature that must be enabled per device and only appears in the video effects/settings UI when it’s supported by the current client and scenario. Since the toggle disappeared after installing a new version, use these checks and steps:

Verify where to look for the toggle
- On the pre‑join screen of a meeting:
  1. Turn the camera on.
  2. Select Effects and avatars > More video effects > Green screen settings.
  3. In Devices > Video, look for the Green Screen toggle.
- In an active session (or outside a meeting):
  1. Select Settings and more (⋯) > Settings.
  2. Go to Devices.
  3. In the Video section, look for the Green Screen toggle.
If the toggle is not present in either location, the current Teams client or environment is not exposing the feature.
Confirm basic prerequisites
- Use the Teams desktop app (Windows or Mac), not only the web client.
- Ensure the camera is turned on when checking Effects and avatars; some video options only appear with an active camera preview.
- Make sure a virtual background is in use or selected; green screen is designed to sharpen the subject against a virtual background.
