    Hi alex calvo,

I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when your mouse works fine everywhere else and even in Minecraft Java, but not in Bedrock. Based on your description, the issue appears isolated to how the Bedrock app is handling input rather than a hardware problem.

Here are some targeted steps you can try:

1, Reinitialize fullscreen rendering since input can fail if the game window loses proper focus.

    • Launch the game
    • Go to Settings > Video
    • Turn Fullscreen OFF, apply > then turn it ON again

2, You can test input behavior on a clean startup to confirm if another process is interfering.

    • Restart your PC
    • Launch Minecraft immediately after login
    • Test mouse and controller before opening other apps

3, Try adjusting Windows input handling (advanced)

It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • Open Command Prompt (Admin)
    • Run: reg add "HKCU\Control Panel\Mouse" /v "RawMouseThrottleEnabled" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" /f
    • Restart your PC

I hope one of these steps helps you get back into the game smoothly. Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.

    Hey there,

Idk if this is a permanent fix. But my wife was playing and loss mouse input (could see the cursor, but unable to click anything). I just went into the settings for the game and went to the mouse and keyboard section. Mapped the mouse to the keyboard. And that restored input. Turned off the mouse being mapped and it went back to working as the cursor in general. Hopes this help.

Settings -> Apps -> Installed Apps -> Minecraft -> Advanced Settings:
    1: Terminate
    2: Repair
    3: Reset

do these in order and it should work as it did for me

Based on the description, the mouse and controller both work in Windows and in Minecraft Java, but not in Minecraft for Windows (Bedrock). That points to an input issue specific to the Bedrock app rather than a hardware or driver failure.

Try these steps focused on Windows input and mouse behavior for apps/games:

    1. Verify the mouse works correctly in Windows
      • Test the mouse in normal desktop apps and in other games.
      • If it fails anywhere outside Bedrock, follow the generic mouse checks:
        • Unplug the mouse, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in.
        • Try a different USB port.
        • If using a USB hub, plug the mouse directly into the PC.
        • Check the cable for damage or replace batteries if wireless.
        • Test the mouse on another PC; if it fails there too, the device may need replacing.
    2. Check for Windows and driver updates
      • Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates.
      • Install all available updates and restart.
      • This ensures the latest input and device improvements are installed, which can affect how games receive mouse input.
    3. Adjust mouse settings in Windows
      • Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Mouse.
      • Confirm the pointer moves normally and that scroll and button behavior are correct.
      • If the pointer feels slow or inconsistent, open Additional mouse options > Pointer Options and adjust pointer speed.
    4. Check for high‑DPI scaling issues with games On some systems, mouse input in games can be incorrectly scaled on high‑DPI displays. The recommended workaround is to exempt the game from high‑DPI scaling:
      1. Locate the Minecraft for Windows executable (or its shortcut) via Start search:
        • On the Start screen or Start menu, type Minecraft.
        • Right‑click the Minecraft app icon and select Open file location.
      2. In the folder that opens, right‑click the Minecraft shortcut or executable and select Properties.
      3. Go to the Compatibility tab.
      4. Enable the option related to DPI scaling (for example, the legacy option Disable display scaling on high DPI settings or the equivalent DPI override setting available on the system).
      5. Apply the change and try launching Minecraft Bedrock again.
For some games, the visible shortcut starts a launcher that then starts the actual game. If changing the shortcut does not help, locate the real game executable and apply the same compatibility change there.
    5. Re‑test controller and mouse only in Bedrock
      • Start Minecraft for Windows and test the mouse first with the controller disconnected.
      • Then close the game, connect the controller, and test again.
      • If one input method starts working after the DPI/compatibility change, keep that configuration.

If the mouse and controller continue to work everywhere except in Minecraft for Windows after these steps, the remaining cause is likely a regression in a specific Bedrock update. In that case, keep Windows fully updated and watch for a Minecraft for Windows update that addresses input issues.
