How do I transfer my contacts from my Lumia 735 to the sim?

The 'microsoft phone link' doesn't allow me to do it in win11, the nokia suite doesn't recognise the lumia 735 as a nokia phone.

Do tell, how do I do it??

I would need a data contract to use sync, which would cost, and transferring manually to a cheep Chinese dumb phone would cost nothing....

    Hi

People only has 'Import from SIM', and I use a PC when I need to go online, and the phone is for texts and calls. It is a shame microsoft failed to put a 'save contacts to SD card', but that would mean they would not be able to control your phone.

For all the hassle to get the contacts off windows, it will probably be better to get a Chinese phone and type in the contacts manually.

    Hi Art Expert Tutor,

I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when the newer tools don’t seem to work with older devices like the Lumia 735.

The Lumia 735 runs Windows Phone 8.1, which is end of service (EOS). Some features (including sync and apps) may no longer work reliably, and certain options like direct transfer to SIM are limited.

To help narrow it down further:

    • Do you see any “export to SIM” option in your People app settings?
    • Are your contacts currently saved on the phone or already synced to an account?

In the meantime, please try to sync contacts to a Microsoft account, then export:

Windows Phone is designed to sync contacts to your Microsoft account rather than store them on the SIM.

Steps on Lumia (As I don’t own a Lumia 735, these steps are based on online research. Thank you for your understanding):

    1. Go to “Settings” > “email+accounts”
    2. Tap your Microsoft account
    3. Select “sync” and ensure contacts are synced

    Then on a PC:

    1. Go to https://outlook.live.com/people/
    2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account
    3. Select “Manage contacts” > “Export contacts” (CSV file)

    You can then:

    • Import that CSV into another phone
    • Or use a modern phone to copy contacts to SIM

If direct export is not available:

    1. Sync contacts to your Microsoft account
    2. Add that account to an Android/iPhone
    3. Use that phone’s “Export to SIM” feature
