My Windows 7 Dell Laptop Computer either throws out some errors if I try to download the Microsoft store from chrome and if I try to download and to install apps and games from the Microsoft store. I can download it, but if I try to install it, it either throws out some errors, or it doesn't install at all. Please help me Microsoft People. It's all I have. Please speak to the person who owns Microsoft, I don't know if it's Elon Musk or Bull Gates. But please. I can't afford a new PC, or laptop at the moment. Please help me. I've tried everything in my will from the internet to get it fixed, but none of it worked. Please. I just want it working, it's all I have.

Now I'm Counting On You Guys.

    Hi Chalene Van Tonder,

I understand how important this is, especially if this is your main device and you’ve already tried multiple methods.

The issue is not caused by a broken setting or installation. Microsoft Store simply isn’t available on Windows 7, so it cannot be installed or used on that system. This is why you’re seeing errors when trying to install apps - the operating system does not support the Store platform required for those apps.

Since the Store isn’t supported, here are some practical alternatives that you can try:

    1, Install apps directly

    • Search for the app you need on its official website
    • Download and run the installer (.exe)

    2, Use game/application platforms

    • Install platforms like Steam (for games) or similar tools
    • Download apps from trusted sources only

If you want Microsoft Store features, the only way to use Microsoft Store apps is to run a Windows version that supports it. You can try this approach:

    • Check if your laptop supports Windows 10
    • If yes, upgrade using Windows 10 installation media
    • After upgrading, Microsoft Store will be available automatically

Let me know if you need any further help. Feel free to ask by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Reply" if you are unable to add a comment, so that your reply is visible. I appreciate your effort.

Microsoft Store is not supported on Windows 7. It is only available on supported versions of Windows (such as Windows 10 and Windows 11). Because of this, Microsoft Store itself cannot be installed or used to download apps and games on a Windows 7 Dell laptop.

The troubleshooting steps in the provided materials (resetting Microsoft Store with wsreset.exe, using the Store troubleshooter, reinstalling apps from My Library, using winget, checking Store policies, etc.) all apply only when Microsoft Store is already present on a supported Windows version. They do not apply to Windows 7.

To use Microsoft Store and install apps and games from it, the device must be running a supported Windows version that includes Microsoft Store (for example, Windows 10 or Windows 11). On Windows 7, Microsoft Store cannot be added or made to work through downloads from a browser or other tools.
