Getting an incorrect notification count on your mobile device

Microsoft notes at the bottom of this page that this is under investigation, but I was curious if there was any traction on it? It's becoming more noticeable to end users:

Getting an incorrect notification count on your mobile device

This is a known issue under investigation.

Teams might display an incorrect notification count on the iOS app badge. You'll still see the correct notification count in the desktop version of Microsoft Teams on both Windows and Mac.

For example, Teams on your desktop may indicate no unread messages, but Teams for iOS indicates that there are one or more unread messages.

There is no updated resolution available yet.

The incorrect notification count on the Teams for iOS app badge is documented as an emerging/known issue. The current status is that Microsoft is still investigating and will update the relevant articles when more information becomes available. No additional fix, workaround, or completion timeline is provided beyond that.

End users can rely on the desktop Teams client (Windows or Mac) for the correct unread count until the investigation is completed.
