Setup Default Website in Chrome for System on Azure (Entra) AD.

Is there a document on how to setup our Intranet SharePoint site as the default home page that people go to when they open the browser and is there a way to make it where that page can be changed by the user.

I have got it to where when I open Chrome on a domain joined system, that it goes to the homepage I told it to, though every time it asks for 2FA. I had someone else try who happens to be on Azure and the change never took.

I notice in the Configuration Profile in Intune Admin when I select Google, that it says this only works with AD joined systems or Chrome Web something or other. This is why I am wondering if there is a way to get it to work on Azure joined systems.

Have found lots of documents about the AD joined process but haven't found anything about setting it up for Azure AD. There are articles about setting up for an app but that doesn't apply here.

@Jon Mercer, Thanks for posting in Q&A. Based on my test, you can configure the settings under "Google Chrome - Default Settings users can override > Startup Home page and New Tab page" in Setting Catalog profile.

After the policy applied, the homepage is changed and the user can change it under settings:

Thank you. Will need to give it a bit to propagate. The article I had found had me import to ADMX but then when creating a profile to select template and then administrative template, and then Google. It gives roughly the same layout but doesn't show like yours does when done.

Now just need to figure out why it keeps wanting my 2FA. There is no option for it to remember it just keeps coming up wanting me to put in the 2 numbers in my phone, but I have another request for that around here somewhere and waiting to see if I get a useful reply to that.

Going to give it some more time, but under chrome://policies in the browser it looks the same as you showed, but under appearance the dot stays in new tab page, and just opens the default google page when I open the browser or select the home button. It shows the correct URL in the editable box shown below.

@Jon Mercer, Thanks for the reply. During my test, when I only set the homepage URL. I have the same behavior like yours. After I add the other settings in my picture, I find is select on the url I configure.

For the MFA, based on my experience, you can check if conditional access require MFA is configured or if you configure MFA in your environment. You can contact Azure AD support to get more help.

I have it set the same as yours, and it just goes to Google.

If I add action on startup, and select open new tab, it goes to Bing.

@Jon Mercer, Thanks for the reply. It seems we have configured the home page URL. But it is not working. If so, I suggest open case to see if we can get more finding.
