Forwarding Rule not working when received through Group.

We have a user that is receiving emails that are in need of parsing to make them readable from a database. The emails received should be automatically forwarded to an email parser. Our problem now is that creating a rule seems not working, but it has no issue when we do it manually. We are automating the process because the emails are received almost every 5 to 10 minutes.

Also, the emails are received by the user through a distribution group.

Here are some of the things that I already did:

  • gave the user permission to "Send As" and "Send on Behalf" of the email group
  • Disabled other Rules running.
  • wait for 24 hours after the rules and permissions are created.
  • Contacted MS Support > but He only sent me an article on how to do forwarding.
  • Also, I already check Security > Outbound Spam settings > Forwarding is enabled.

    Hi,

    I forgot that I posted this here, I have solved the problem. There was 1 item that I have not done aside from the bullets on my post.

    • Exchange Admin > Mailflow > Remote Domains : Allow Automatic Forwarding.

    If I understand your question correctly, you need to forward emails which are sent to a distribution group to an email parser, currently one user (a member of the distribution group) is doing this manually.

    If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to point out.


    To me if you have allowed automatic external email forwarding in Exchange Online, you can create an inbox rule in Outlook or Outlook on the web like:
