Does service principle Microsoft Office 365 Portal need to be GA?

Does the "Microsoft Office 365 Portal" service principle needs to be a global admin, as its in our Global Admins group?

Name - Microsoft.Office365Portal
Enterprise Application
Application ID 00000006-0000-0ff1-ce00-000000000000

We'd like to remove any GA's that don't need the access and this has it.

No, it does not. You can safely remove it from the GA role.
