Based on the email on classic administrator roles being retired...

Am I understanding it correctly that Service Administrator and Owner are one in the same from a permissions standpoint?

If I have someone who is assigned as both a Service Administrator and an Owner on the same subscription, I should be able to safely remove them from the Service Administrator role with no ill effects to the subscription or their permissions to it?

    Hi Thanks for the question
The "Owner " role is equivalent but we very strongly suggest to use least privilege roles to improve security
