How can I delete failed vector index in Azure AI Studio ? opening the link to the details page of the index under "components" does not show a "..." nor a "delete" button in the top right hand corner as was suggested by the ai assistant.
Note that these failed indexes are not yest showing up in the list of available indexes in my ai search resource and I have not reached the limit of index that my ai search plan allows.

Hi @santoshkc , I have tried all your suggestions but the issue remains. here is a screenshot of the indexes I see in the Azure AI Studio. - except for the "ready" indexes shown none of the others (failed) exist in the AI Search resource.... screenshot attached.

It seems that the reason you are not seeing the failed indexes in your AI Search resource could be due to issues related to failed index scenarios. Unfortunately, there is no direct option to delete the failed vector indexes in Azure AI Studio. However, you can manage the display of these indexes by using the filter option available on the index page. To do this, go to the top right corner of the index page, click on the filter option, select 'Status' from the dropdown menu, and set the status to 'Ready.' Then, click 'Apply' to view only the indexes with a 'Ready' status, effectively hiding the failed indexes from your view.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, the index names of the failed indexes are no longer available for use for new indexing attempts while they are still in this list. It would really be helpful to have the option to select and delete these....

It seems the failed indexes in Azure AI Studio are preventing you from reusing their names for new indexing attempts, which can be frustrating. Unfortunately, Azure AI Studio currently doesn't offer a direct way to delete failed indexes. So, I encourage you to submit a feature request for this issue through the Azure Feedback Forum. I have managed to solve this issue: in the indexes list, click on the link of the failed index that you want to remove, this takes you to the ml job that failed. Delete the failed ml job. (confirm deletion with yes) - once this is gone, the failed index in Azure ai studio will also disappear....

Hi, sadly the failed indexes have not automatically gone away after page refreshes and waiting over 3 hours.. - any other ideas would be appreciated

If the failed indexes haven't gone away after refreshing the page and waiting for a few hours, you can try clearing your browser's cache, trying a different browser, or using incognito mode might also resolve the issues.
