The SharePoint Pets "list" is created in:

Exercise - Import data into your Microsoft Dataverse database

Copy/paste this into Excel:

Fergie Cat Tabby 11/13/2024

Sam Dog German Shepherd 11/13/2024

Oh yeah, the SharePoint Pets file you’re looking for is part of the learning materials for that Power Apps module. There are a couple of common spots where Microsoft usually hides these things:

Directly in the Microsoft Learn module – usually early on, when they’re walking you through the setup, there’s often a link like “Download the sample data” or something similar. If you haven’t seen it yet, it might be in the first or second unit of the module.

Microsoft’s GitHub repos – they often stash these training files on GitHub. A good place to check is the official Power Platform repo here: 👉 https://github.com/microsoftlearning/PL-200-Power-Platform-Functional-Consultant If you poke around in the folders, especially in something like Mod 04 or a “module 4” folder, you’ll probably find a file named Pets.xlsx or something similar.

Sandbox environments – if you’re using a Microsoft Learn sandbox, sometimes the SharePoint list is already set up for you when you connect to SharePoint through Power Apps Studio.

    Hi Crystal Swanson,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Adding tables of data to your Power Apps app is a straightforward process. For learning purposes, SharePoint Online lists are an excellent data source, especially since they are included in most Office 365 subscriptions at no additional cost.

In this module, the SharePoint Pets file is part of a knowledge-building exercise designed to help you work with external data in a Power Apps canvas app. To complete the exercise successfully, you can find the download link within the module, as illustrated in the exercise screenshot.

Please follow this link to access the exercise: Work with external data in a Power Apps canvas app.

Once you download and extract the spreadsheet, you’ll need to upload it to your OneDrive and follow the steps outlined in the exercise to connect it as a data source in Power Apps.

If you are still facing any issue, please let us know in the comments and where you are encountering this error along with the screenshot for reference. We are glad to help you.
