Hi,
I currently have a problem with sound from microphone in Teams. The microphone sound is not picked up at all in any teams meeting. I have already tried another microphone and tried changing the settings around, and nothing works. I have tried the same microphone in both other native applications and on other websites in Microsoft edge, and I get sound from my mic from all other places then from Teams. I have even tried teams directly in edge, but again here neither does Teams pick up sound from my microphone.
I have tried a few things:
- Rebootet the PC
- Another Microphone
- Testing sound in other applications (Works every other places then Teams)
- Check if Teams has permissions in edge to access microphone
- Delete teams storage and cookies.
- Reset browser to factory defaults
- Reinstalled Edge (Removing everything)
About my setup
- OS: Fedora 41,
- Desktop: Gnome 47.1, Wayland
- Kernal: Linux 6.11.10-300.fc41.x86_64
- Teams Version: Teams Progressive Web app via Microsoft Edge (Beta And stable) Version 1415/24120100203 (TAP - C)
- Edge version: Microsoft Edge for Business Version 132.0.2957.41 (Official build) beta (64-bit)
- Audio driver: pipewire Compiled with libpipewire 1.2.7 Linked with libpipewire 1.2.7
- headset: Jabra evolve2 85
Microsoft 365 and Office | Skype for Business | Linux

Tried different microphones(build-in/external/bluetooth headset), different Edge versions even on different Ubuntu releases(22.04 and 20.04) but no joy. This has to be an issue on the platform site - Teams in Edge (PWA) - because this issue started yesterday, and I haven't changed(upgraded/downgraded) anything before.

The microphone does not work for Teams in the browser (chrome and edge) on Ubuntu and Win11x64. The native windows app works fine, but none of the browser based ones work. Testing in Edge browser directly. Rolling back to MS Edge 129.0.2792.89 (which ironically brought back my ability to screen share, but no mic input). I've also tried Chromium and 2 versions of Chrome and same issue. My only true work around has been using Firefox, which seems to allow ScreenSharing and Mic input for the time being. This is def something to do with Teams and Edge(Chromium underlay).

Works in any browser on other sites, even in Edge. But not in Teams in Edge. Linux Mint 21.3, Cinnamon 6.0.4, kernel 5.15.0-126-generic, X11. Edge Version 131.0.2903.86 (Official build) (64-bit), but also previous version did not work, this update did not help.

Edge - Version 131.0.2903.86 (Official build) (64-bit)
Google-Chrome -Version 131.0.6778.108 (Official Build) (64-bit)
I tried it in Firefox - 133.0 (64-bit)
Firefox works well.
Other apps on the same machine get both.
Manjaro 6.6.63-1-MANJARO (64-bit)
