Enabled dynamic alphanumeric sender ID (But how do you send sms)

Hi,

I have enabled: Dynamic Alphanumeric Sender ID.

But no number or in this case the CONTOSO is generated allowing me to send a sms.

It seems as the documentation is lacking how to procced after Dynamic Alphanumerice Sender ID have been enabled.

Jimmy Winberg, Apologies for the delayed response.

A Dynamic Alpha sender ID doesn't need ACS to assign or approve your sender ID. You should be able to start sending SMS right away. Are you receiving any specific errors?

No no errors, but I cannot select anything, no number or anything during test send sms, so i can't create alerts that send sms as i have nothing to pick from.

Jimmy Winberg, If it's Dynamics, there's nothing we need to do on our end. As the name implies, users can simply use the sender ID and send SMS instantly—Dynamic (instant).

Kindly refer to the "Supported Destinations" in this table to determine whether your resource is under Dynamic or pre-registered senderID.

Thank you for the help, but what is unclear here is that how do i see my sender id, i cannot test send sms as i have no no number or sender id to select from.

I cant find anything that refers me how to actually be able to send once dynamic sendID have been activated.

If i go to try SMS, nothing available.

If i go to Alphanumeric Sender ID section under Dynamic it only says enabled, no ID displayed no name or anything.

So when i create an alert rule and select to send sms I cant nothing is available for me to select here, no number or use of dynamic senderID. I dont see anything in the documentation letting me know how to use this.

Really appriciate your help here this seems to be unclear for many users if you google it.

The Try SMS feature on the Azure portal is limited to purchased phone numbers and pre-registered alphanumeric sender IDs. If you wish to test sending an SMS using a dynamic sender ID, you should utilize our CLI, API, or SDK instead of the Azure portal's Try SMS blade. For detailed instructions on sending an SMS, please refer to the guide provided: Quickstart: Send an SMS message
