Hello everyone,

Currently I am implementing Microsoft Intune for our end-users. After end-users enrolled Xiaomi devices in Company Portal Intune, i saw some work apps like:

  • Backup, Find my phone access to SMS
  • Backup access to Contact
  • Phone Service access miui.modemsmart.permission.Access_MSE

I attach some images as bellow about work app access some personal app. Please help me explain why some work apps require that access, how can i turn off or uninstall all work apps like that.

I check on All App in Intune administrator, these apps are not managed by organization.

This is my device restriction that applied for our end-users

@Hien Nguyen, Thanks for posting in Q&A. Based on my researching, these work apps are installed on Xiaomi devices to provide essential functionalities that enhance user experience and device management. Here’s why each app requires specific permissions

    1. Backup App access to Contacts: The Backup app needs access to contacts to create backups of your contact information. This ensures that you can restore these data if needed, such as when switching devices or performing a factory reset.
    2. Backup Find My Phone access to SMS: The Find My Phone feature requires access to SMS to send location information and notifications. This helps in locating your device if it is lost or stolen.
    3. Phone Service access to miui.modemsmart.permission.Access_MSE: This permission is related to managing modem settings and ensuring the device can communicate effectively over the network. It allows the Phone Service app to handle network-related functions and maintain stable connectivity.

There apps are installed automatically when we enroll with work profile. It is not recommended to uninstall them to avoid device management issue on the Phone.

If you still want to uninstall them, after researching, I don't find the directly method to uninstall them. You can try the method in the following link to see if it can help.

Note: none-Microsoft link, just for the reference.

Hope the above information can help.
