@K Tz,Thanks for posting in Q&A.
Based on my research, this error often occurs because the free Azure trial doesn’t include the necessary Intune licensing features. Automatic Enrollment is a capability that requires an active, licensed Intune subscription (usually part of an EMS or Microsoft 365 subscription). Without the proper license, the Automatic Enrollment page won’t open, and you’ll see an error.
Here are a few steps you can consider:
1.Verify Licensing:
Check your subscription details. Intune Automatic Enrollment requires a valid paid license (for example, EMS E3/E5 or Microsoft 365 E3/E5). The free Azure trial doesn’t typically include Intune as a standalone service.

2.MDM Authority Configuration:
Ensure that your tenant’s MDM authority is set up. However, even if configured correctly, lacking the proper license will still block features like Automatic Enrollment.
3.Consider a Trial for Microsoft Endpoint Manager:
If you want to test Intune’s full capabilities, consider signing up for a trial that includes Intune rather than relying solely on a free Azure AD trial.

Hope above information can help you.
