Issues with Admin center - Extensions not showing (Win Server 2025)

Anonymous

I have installed Windows Server 2025 Datacenter Evaluation (26100 GA) and WAC part of it (made sure it was the latest one).

My A4500 GPU has drivers installed and should work fine, however in WAC the GPUs doesnt show up from extensions. I have made sure its installed correctly.

Any tips i can try?

Also i have tried few other random extensions, none of them show up.

    Hello Asko123,

thank you for posting on the Microsoft Community Forums.

It sounds like you've taken some solid steps already, but here are a few additional tips and steps you can try:

    1. Ensure Extensions are Enabled: Go to the Settings in WAC, navigate to the "Extensions" section to verify that the extensions you need, like GPU and others, are enabled.
    2. Verify GPU Drivers: Ensure that the GPU drivers for your A4500 are the latest and fully compatible with Windows Server 2025. Sometimes, it's beneficial to uninstall and then reinstall the drivers to ensure there are no issues.
    3. Check Windows Admin Center Version: Verify that you are indeed running the latest version of Windows Admin Center, and check the WAC release notes for any known issues with the GPU extensions and possible fixes.
    4. Administrative Privileges: Ensure that the account you are using to connect to WAC has the necessary administrative privileges.
    5. Ensure Dependencies are Installed: Some extensions might depend on other components or services being installed and running.
    6. Check Network and Connectivity: Ensure that there is no network connectivity issue between the server and the WAC.
    7. Manually update the extensions from the WAC interface to ensure they are the latest versions, sometimes re-installing specific extensions resolves the issue.
    8. Ensure your Windows Server is fully updated with the latest patches.

    Hope it helps.

    Best regards,

    Lei

No issues with this. Everyhting else (logs, monitoring etc) work fine. Extensions just not showing.
    7. Manually update the extensions from the WAC interface to ensure they are the latest versions, sometimes re-installing specific extensions resolves the issue.

    and

    8. Ensure your Windows Server is fully updated with the latest patches.

Done this few times. Also manually from Feeds installed the extension. (Manually download it and install it from the Server locally.

I have actually installed Windows Server 2025 to try to fix this.

    Hello,

maybe you'll need to check the event logs on the server to see if there are any errors or warnings related to WAC or GPU detection.

I'm seeing exactly the same behaviour with WAC on some servers. specifically The HPE extensions don't appear despite being installed and I'm trying to work out why.

I have some questions regarding the list you posted above

    >1. Ensure Extensions are Enabled: Go to the Settings in WAC, navigate to the "Extensions" section to verify that the extensions you need, like GPU and others, are enabled.

'Enabled'? You can install an extension or uninstall it. There is no way to enable and disable... that I can find.

    >4. Administrative Privileges: Ensure that the account you are using to connect to WAC has the necessary administrative privileges.

If you are logged into the server, are an admin on the server and have provided your account credentials to connect to WAC then it should be running as your account, no?

    >5. Ensure Dependencies are Installed: Some extensions might depend on other components or services being installed and running.

How can we diagnose if an extension isn't loading due to a dependency. In my case I can't see some HPE extensions but I've followed the HP instructions. Presumably something is going wrong, but where does it log this information.

    >7.  Manually update the extensions from the WAC interface to ensure they are the latest versions, sometimes re-installing specific extensions resolves the issue.

If you download an extension to a local folder and add that folder as a source and then check for updates but nothing appears, then I assume that WAC has scanned the folder and found that it contains an already installed extension, no?
