Windows 11 23H2 Update error 0x80070005

Hi, i was trying to patch our offline network via WSUS last month with october's latest patches and error code 0x80070005 keeps getting thrown.

I hoped it was something with that month's patches but no luck, november does the same.

From what i've read, it's either a corrupted file, or insufficient permissions but i have my doubts about this. The .NET update, Edge and Defender updates install with no problems, only the OS one fails and even this doesn't happen on all workstations.

So far ,i've tried adding permissions for the software distribution folder and the app data one, getting the patch as msu installer from the update catalogue directly, installing with domain admin account, removing the GPO's from a few test stations, deploying via SCCM and still i get the same error code. Windows Update troubleshooter does nothing, sfc /scannow does nothing

What could cause this and how would i fix this without reinstalling the OS?

Sadly, because of the nature of the network, i am unable to post logs unless it's a last resort.

Hi, thanks for the answer, but i am not sure if the issue is WSUS related.

As i said, i am facing the same problem installing the CUs with wsus, SCCM, or with the MSU package from the update catalogue.

Should i still move my question to the Q&A forum ?
