HLK Server 2025 Playlist Removes iSCSI tests from iSCSI RAID systems under test.

Setup Information:

  • HLK Version: 10.1.26100.1
  • Controller OS: Windows Server 2022 Datacenter, Version 21H2, OS Build 20348.2527
  • Client OS: Windows Server 2025 Datacenter (Core), Version 10.0.26100, Build 26100
  • Playlist: HLK Version 24H2 CompatPlaylist x64 ARM64 SERVER.xml (Build Date 3/11/2024)

Problem:

With an iSCSI RAID system attached, there have been several iSCSI tests required to run. However, when the Playlist above is loaded, it removes the iSCSI tests from the mix. Is this by design? Do iSCSI controllers no longer require additional iSCSI tests? I'm thinking that there may need to be an updated Playlist file to correct this.

I've attached 2 images showing that the tests are available prior to the Playlist being loaded.

"iSCSI Target iSNS Test (LOGO)" depreciated with Server 2022, so that should definitely be gone.

However, the following tests should NOT be getting removed by the Playlist.

    • iSCSI Target Digest Test (Disk) (LOGO)
    • iSCSI Target Mutual CHAP Test (LOGO)
    • iSCSI Oneway CHAP Test (LOGO)
    • iSCSI Target Ping Test (LOGO)

Based on the problem description and additional information, it seems that some essential iSCSI tests are being excluded from the playlist. To address this:

    • Verify the playlist content and ensure the necessary tests are not excluded.
    • Update the HLK software and playlist file to the latest versions.
    • Create a custom playlist to manually include the required iSCSI tests.

I'm running all the latest stuff right now, and I'm not sure if the HLK submission team at Microsoft will accept a modified Playlist. This issue may be best suited for them, but they don't seem to have a forum for questions like this. Anyway, thanks for looking at this.
