Error message "activation failed"

Hi,

I am trying to add a new work account to my outlook/ authenticator and I get this error message:

"activation failed. Make sure that push notifications are enabled on the phone and your Activation Code is not wrong, expired or formerly used."

Notifications are enabled and it's the first time I am trying to connect so I have not used this code before. How can I solve this issue and finally connect to my new account?

    Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. Based on the information you have provided, it looks like you cannot add your work account. This error message means the user is blocked from the Entra ID, and you need an admin account to unblock it. 

    • To unblock user in Entra ID:   
    1. Navigate to Entra ID > Users > All users.    
    2. At the top of the All-users page, click Per-User MFA.  
    3. Choose the user and click Enable MFA.
