    Hi @Arnaud Mulliez

Thanks for your post in Microsoft community. I understand how frustrating it is when Outlook keeps closing on startup, especially after reinstalling Office. Don't worry - we'll work through this together. Here are some steps that may help:

Step 1: Try Opening Outlook in Safe Mode

Sometimes, a faulty add-in can cause Outlook to crash. To check:

    • Press Windows + R, type outlook.exe /safe, and hit Enter
    • If Outlook opens successfully, the issue might be an add-in.

    Step 2: Disable Add-ins

If Outlook runs in Safe Mode: Turn an add-in off for Outlook for Windows - Microsoft Support

    • Click File > Options > Add-ins
    • Select COM Add-ins, then click Go
    • Uncheck all add-ins and restart Outlook.

    Step 3: Repair Microsoft Office

A damaged Office installation could be the root of the problem.

    • Open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features
    • Find Microsoft Office, click Change, then choose Quick Repair

Note: Before proceeding, it's strongly recommended to back up your entire mailbox data to prevent any loss.

Step 4: Use Microsoft’s Repair Tool

Microsoft provides an automatic repair tool that may resolve Outlook startup issues: Running troubleshooters in Get Help - Microsoft Support

    • Launch the tool after installation.
    • Sign in using the Office 365 credentials of the affected user.
    • Select the issue from the provided list based on the problem you're experiencing.
    • The Support and Recovery Assistant will then run a series of automated tests to diagnose and resolve the issue.

Step 5: Roll Back to a Previous Working Version

If Outlook remains inaccessible after following the previous steps, consider this as a final troubleshooting option.

    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
    • Run this command: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.12827.20470
