Hello,

I’m encountering a problem with the "Text in Image" feature in Microsoft Edge. Every time I attempt to use it, I receive the following error message:

"CAN'T FIND TEXT. Please try a different image or switch to related content."

System Information:

  • Microsoft Edge Version: 129.0.2792.52 (Official build) (64-bit)
  • Operating System: Windows 11 Home Single Language, Version 23H2
  • Processor: 12th Gen Intel Core i3-1215U 1.20 GHz
  • RAM: 8.00 GB
  • OS Build: 22631.4169
  • Windows Feature Experience Pack: 1000.22700.1034.0
  • Pen and Touch: No pen or touch input available

What I’ve Tried:

  • I have tested multiple images to ensure it’s not an issue with the specific image.
  • I’ve restarted the browser and cleared the cache.
  • I verified that I have the latest version of Microsoft Edge installed.

Despite these efforts, the issue persists. Could you please assist me in resolving this?

Hi Anjela, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

The issue seems to be with Bing's visual search. I'm encountering the same problem, and when I test the same image with Google's Image to Text feature, it functions correctly for me which suggests that the service is not working correctly or is not refined yet. I have also tested this across various versions of Edge, including Beta, Dev, and Canary, and have encountered the same issue.

I suggest you report this through the Feedback option at the lower right part of Bing's page.

In the meantime, you may use Microsoft Powertoy's Text Extractor.

Or you can use Google's services as an alternative solution.

    Hi Paulo,

Thank you so much for your helpful response! I appreciate the clarification about the issue being with Bing's visual search, and I will definitely report it using the Feedback option. I'll also try the Microsoft PowerToy's Text Extractor and Google’s Image to Text service as alternatives, as you suggested.

    Thanks again for your support!

    Best regards,
    Anjela Ekka
