same error after running this fix. It does list my printer in "searching for available printers", but when I choose the printer & click next, I still get "cannot connect to printer" & details shows "operation failed with error 0x0000000a."s

Your Post is now over a month old but I wanted to post this for everybody else having this issue.
This issue racked my brain for two days. I had the issue on my Windows 2008 R2 64bit Terminal Server. We were trying to connect to a locally USB attached Canon Printer. All my terminal server clients could not connect to the troubled printer. We got a 0x0000007e error. This is the solution that worked:

Create a new printer port mapping to the network address.
IE: \YourPrintServer\ThePrintersName

P.S. It can also be solved by making sure all your Windows Updates are up to date on the server.
