It is not recommend to use wid, instead use the Sql license for your wsus db.
Since you have a cas and therefore over 150000 devices, you should be contacting your TAM for these type of support questions, as there maybe things that the general admin will not know about your environment that your tam would know.
Recommended Drive Size for WID Database
Hello All,
Using SCCM 2010 version. WSUS uses WID to sync from Microsoft to the CAS server. WSUS sycn happens daily for Endpoint Production definition update,
WID data is in C: Drive and it's disk space reduced on every 15 days.
Planned to move the WSUS to different drive as per the below forums.
https://patchmypc.com/how-to-move-the-wsus-content-folder-to-a-new-location
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/windows-server-essentials-and/how-to-move-wsus-content-and-database-files-to-a-different/ba-p/397186
Please help on the below queries
- What is the Microsoft recommendation about the required Drive Space for the WID if it is moved to different drive
- How to reduce the size of the SUSDB.mdf and SUSDB_log.ldf. Because it's size is growing on everyday
- How does the size of SUSDB.mdf and SUSDB_log.ldf increased

2021-10-29T20:45:30.323+00:00 Are you performing the proper WSUS maintenance including but not limited to running the Server Cleanup Wizard (SCW), declining superseded updates, running the SQL Indexing script, etc.?

Occasionally you'll want to shrink the database, but mine hovers around the 13-15 GB mark with 500MB log file - and my server has 204,347 updates in it's database as it also includes the Drivers category.
