Whilst having the ScanAvgCpuLoadFactor set to 35%, a full scan would still consume all the remaining CPU of a machine.

Hello all,

I'm currently in the process of implementing MS Defender for Endpoints and I noticed that the ScanAvgCpuLoadFactor option does not seem to kick in.

> Get-MpPreference | select ScanAvgCPULoadFactor

ScanAvgCPULoadFactor

              35

This option was set through the endpoints portal antimalware policies (Intune Co-Managed machines) but full scans are still taking up all the CPU and it stays at 100% during the scan.

Any idea how to troubleshoot this, is this the correct setting or is there any other option that has to be set up?

Thanks in advance,

Pavel Bobchev
