second monitor doesn't awakes after sleeping. STILL

hey. i'm just curious is Microsoft going to solve this bug or not?

my second monitor set as the primary often won't wake up after PC waking up after sleep.

PC: Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (build 22631.3880), CPU AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, motherboard MSI X570 Gaming Pro, RTX 4070 TI Super (same issue was with GTX 1070 as well). everything of those has newest stable drivers.

1st monitor: LG D2542P-PN (cable connected DP-HDMI (DP is for DisplayPort), also tried HDMI-HDMI), 2nd: IIyama ProLite X2377HDS-B1 (cable HDMI-HDMI, also tried DP-HDMI), 3rd: Samsung UE55MU6272 (cable HDMI-HDMI).

workarounds i tried:

  • changing cables: tried connecting DP, HDMI, DVI cables to the same monitor (DP and HDMI cables are new and undamaged. no issues when working with Ubuntu)
  • changing the order of connecting monitors (primary and secondary)
  • resetting graphic drivers with the Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B combination
  • changing power modes in MB's BIOS
  • trying completely useless recommendations from this site (like Power Troubleshooter, update graphic card's drivers, checking "Allow the device to wake the computer" in Device Manager, etc., etc.)

the only method currently working is to unplug the cable from the monitor and then plug it back. but as you can understand, this is totally unacceptable.

so if our dear moderators want to help, the best way is to send this topic (and hundreds of similar ones related to this problem) to the developers.

dear moderators/community representatives, please don't suggest silly steps and/or the ones I already described in this section!

p.s. why do you always close topics that have no solution? 0_0

for whose who still may be interested: i think this problem is connected to so called 'windows 11 away mode' (google it and try the solutions instead of wasting time on those suggested by the "experts" of this forum).

The thing about this normal support diatribe is Change and Consequence. I have the same problem. Nothing has changed except Windows. The hardware all worked sleep mode was normal both screens woke up shortly after a click. Only thing changed was the software from MS. Now it doesn't work. Sombody as MS changed something in an update and didn't know what they did or purposely had some other agenda. I updated the Nvida driver which was suggested and changed nothing. What is the command to the to awaken the DVI port? It eventually happens. So something is scheduling this on purpose . When starting from a hard boot both HDMI and DVI monitors awaken simultaneously. Is there a logging tool that can capture an event stream at the graphic device interface? Please get serious.

this problem is not only with me, but also with several of my friends with different sets of PC hardware. also seen threads about similar problem from other people here.

i ask you to stop guessing and giving absolutely useless advice and hand over this case to the developers ,plz.

p.s. to be honest, I would advise Microsoft to get rid of such "specialists" who cannot solve ANY customer problems here on the forum.

    hey, Zev.

unfortunately, it's obviously useless, like 99.99% of agent's answers here.

but you can do one good thing: can you please forward this case to that site where do you offering me to waste some more of my time? 🙂 mean, to devs.

    thanks

    Hi AbbathUX.

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

In your description, one of your monitors is not waking up.

I noticed that you tried a number of steps including managing the power plan, updating the graphics card drivers etc. Thank you for your efforts in resolving this issue, your efforts deserve recognition and I do understand that the current situation is still frustrating.

We recommend that you connect this monitor to another computer to see if the same thing happens.

Also, some monitors or motherboards have power saving modes, or power management features, which are also likely to affect the device-like body after waking from hibernation.

Also, with my search, I found that IIyama monitors also come with power management features, and the MSI X570 Gaming Pro has some special requirements when waking up, and these may likewise have some impact.

Therefore, please contact IIyama and MSI support via the links below and ask them if there is a way to change adjust the power management mode.
