I bought a Canon ImageClass MF465dw laser printer and my Laptop with window 11 could not find the Scanner in this printer. Called Canon and was told there is a software bug in window 11 version 24H2. Need to contact Microsoft to download scan software fix. How can I get help from Microsoft? I called the number 1-877-696-7786 and was directed to help.microsoft.com for help. How to find the scan software fix?

Hi Chih Chun Hu,   Welcome to Microsoft Community. We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing printer-related issues with your device.

We understand your frustration. It prevents the utilization of specific hardware resources

Just one thing to share with you is that we (members of the Answers community) are not product developers or experts in the field of hardware, we are just regular support people trying to provide support based on our limited experience and available information.

The Answers community does not directly host any software.

If possible, would you mind sharing more information about this issue with us?

    • Is your Windows device brand new? Or upgraded from Windows 11 23H2?
    • If possible, do you mind installing an earlier version of Windows 11 on your device?

The so-called fixes mentioned by Canon Support may refer to content described in this link.

If your device still has an old Windows installation record, update history, you can try to restore the device to a relatively early state.

For example, system restore, uninstall updates, go back to the previous version of Windows.

    • To open System Restore, use the keyboard shortcut Windows +R, type rstrui.exe and press Enter.
    • To uninstall update, select Start > Settings > Windows Update .UnderRelated settings, selectUpdate historyUninstall updates.****
    • To go back to the previous version of Windows, in the Settings app on your Windows device, select SystemRecovery. If the option is available, select Go back. This will keep your personal files, but it'll remove apps and drivers installed after the upgrade, as well as any changes you made to Settings.

If it is not possible to restore to an earlier version of Windows and KB5048667 does not take effect, currently, you may need to refer to some alternative applications, as mentioned in the following thread. Some community members may try some other brands of print management software as a temporary alternative.
