Can't open and download video recording MS teams

Hi,

I'm logged in with my business account and I created a meeting through MS Office. When the meeting started, I opened the meeting through MS Teams and hit record. When the meeting ended, I wanted to download the recording (after it was processed, of course), but there is no download button to be found. When I tried to open de recording through stream, somehow I can't access it. When I look at the URL it says [business name]-mysharepoint.com/:v:/g/personal/[my name_businessname_nl1]/etc. So it looks like it's connected to a personal Sharepoint somehow. Which is weird, since I'm logged in with my business account. I don't have a personal account.

The IT business I bought the software from, somehow can't find the issue and a fix for it, so I hope you can help. I already tried the following:

  • Open MS teams in a browser: safari and google chrome both didn't work, neither in an incognito window.
  • Redownload MS teams: didn't work
  • Quit MS teams, reopen, log off, log in, non of it worked. Neither a combination of all of the above.
  • Open MS teams on a different device. Didn't work on iPhone, iMac, Mac Book pro or iPad.

I feel like I tried everything, so hope you have some insight that can help. Haha

Thanks in advance!

  • Loes

    Hi Harry,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I already tried all of this and since I'm the organizer, I think I need to go contact Microsoft support. I think the cause is in my Onedrive. Somehow I can't access that.

Thanks though, I hope the support team can help me :-)

    Have a great day!

    Hi Loes C.,

Greetings. Thank you for posting the thread to our community.

I understand your concern, it seems you cannot open and download the Teams recording. For the situation you’ve encountered, I do understand the inconvenience caused and feel very sorry about it.

After my research and as far as I know, after the Teams meeting is over, the recording is saved into the meeting organizer’s OneDrive and also the meeting organizer can download the meeting recording:

For your reference: Record a meeting in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Support [c399-a11f-df6-489f], Play, share, and download a meeting recording in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Support [b012-6eb1-2df-fd45].

In that case, if you are not the meeting organizer, I suggest you can try to contact the meeting organizer to share the recording to you.

If you are the meeting organizer, I notice you’ve tried multiple methods and the issue persists, I’m afraid this is a temporarily server-side issue needs to be investigated from back end to find the cause. The support team has higher permission to remotely assist you and collect background logs for the root cause. This is a more efficient way in handling this case for you.

If you are an admin, I recommend you get support by following steps from this link: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn.

If you are not an admin, you can contact your admin to contact Microsoft support. You can look for the way to find your admin through this link: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support.

Appreciate for your patience and understanding.

Hope you having a nice day.

    Sincerely,
