I would like to let people type, copy, paste, edit and display.

I don't think the colored pens or post it notes are very user friendly,

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Dennis,

Microsoft do offers Teams for Education, which is specifically designed for schools and training environments. This version includes features tailored for educators, such as assignments, grading, and class collaboration.

Regarding licensing, Teams for Education is available for students and teachers with an eligible school email address. However, if your organization is using Microsoft Teams Enterprise, you may need to check whether additional licenses are required for education-specific features.

Enterprise users can still participate, but depending on your organization's setup, instructors and students may need different licenses to access education-focused tools.

In order to check these requirements and get guidance on setting up attendance tracking within Teams, I strongly recommend you should submit a service request in Admin center. For detailed instructions on how to get support, please refer to Get support - Microsoft 365 admin.  A technical support engineer from dedicated team can perform a remote session to assist you with it.

One more thing. We would like to capture student attendance.

I found a video online, but I am unsure if this works for our organization. We use Teams throughout the Enterprise, but is there a version of Teams designed especially for training/ education??

Would we need a different version of Teams designed specifically for training?? Are additional/ different licenses required??

Will this let Enterprise users participate or does everyone [instructors and students] have to get a different license?

Thanks for your help ... Denis

    Dear Denis,

Thank you for reaching out regarding ways to enhance the typing and editing experience in Microsoft Teams breakout rooms. Below are some suggestions to make collaboration more user-friendly:

    1. In the Microsoft Whiteboard App, enable text boxes so participants can type freely.

    • Ensure all participants have editing permissions to contribute effectively.

    2. Try OneNote for Structured Collaboration

    3. Enable Breakout Room Collaboration

    • Assign each breakout room a shared document or Whiteboard, ensuring participants have the right permissions to edit.
    1. At the moment, features for MS Teams are constantly updated so we would love to receive feed back from our valued users. If you want to suggest a functionality or feature related to it, you may do so at https://aka.ms/TeamsFeedback or from the Teams app > Help > Suggest a feature.

Testing different tools and methods may help determine the best option for your training sessions. Let me know if you need further guidance!

    Best regards,
