Teams Chatbot: Adaptive Card Text Clears on Page Refresh

I am working on a chatbot using Bot Framework on Microsoft Teams. While testing, I noticed an issue where the input text in an Adaptive Card clears when the Teams chat is refreshed. This happens if:

  1. I scroll up in the chat.
  2. I switch to another chat window and come back before submitting the card.

It seems like this behavior might be related to how Teams handles page refresh or state management.

I have investigated the Bot Framework documentation for state persistence options and explored the use of temporary state storage, but the issue persists.

There isn’t a specific error message, as this appears to be a default behavior of Teams Adaptive Cards.

System information:

  • Framework: Bot Framework SDK
  • Environment: Microsoft Teams
  • Testing Environment: Teams Desktop App (Linux)

Is this behavior expected for Adaptive Cards in Teams, and is there a workaround or recommended approach to retain the input text on page refresh or chat switch before the card is submitted?

I would appreciate any insights or guidance.
