Microsoft Teams: Disable Animated Emoji option removed?

Microsoft Teams appears to have removed the option to disable animated emoji in a recent update. I have looked through General, Appearance, and Accessibility menus--where older threads have recommended looking--and found nothing to change this in the latest version. Is there another way to disable animations, or has this feature been removed? (If it has been removed, please return it as soon as possible--I require reduced motion as an accessibility feature; the animated emoji are incredibly visually distracting.)

Update (27 March 2025): Clearing the cache solved the problem for about a week, but then the option to disable animations disappeared again and the app defaulted to displaying animations. I cleared the cache again to restore it, but this appears to be an ongoing bug--I should not need to clear the cache weekly to access a basic accessibility option.

Dear OLIVER K LONG,

Good day!

Thanks for posting to this community.

Based on your description, I understand your query about disable animated emoji option in Microsoft Teams.

From my end, I'm capable to find the "Enable Animation" toggle under Appearance like shown in below screenshot.

Would you please kindly share with us more information to narrow down the scope of question?

Thank you in advance for your understanding! Your patience and cooperation will be greatly appreciated. I hope all the best!

Clearing the cache caused the option to disable animations to appear again. Thank you!

In answer to the other questions: here was the appearance menu from before clearing the cache. It was identical on both the browser and desktop (Windows 11) versions of the application.

And the version info message: "You have Microsoft Teams version 25044.2208.3471.2155. You've got the latest version. It was last checked on 3/21/2025."

That was my issue--clearing the Teams cache by Connery You's recommendation above caused the option to reappear for me. Hopefully that works for you too!
