How to remove red triangle with exclamation mark on Teams icon on taskbar

I get the usual red triangle with an exclamation mark on Teams because I have accounts with several organizations and some of them require authentication via the authenticator app or via text message. As such, I am not constantly logged in to every one of them and I get the red triangle with exclamation mark alert next to the respective accounts which I am not logged into. This is not an issue for me, I am a consultant and work with a lot of different organizations and do not need to be logged in to every one of them at the same time. 95% of the time I use my main account. However, recently (after a recent update I think) the red triangle has started showing on the icon on the taskbar as well - which is incredibly annoying as that makes it so that I cannot see my own status or how many notifications I have waiting for me. Any tips on how to get this red triangle away from the icon on the taskbar? (I can't delete my account with the other orgs. I need access to data rooms there).

I have the same issue, and very similar circumstances as other people in this thread (need to stay connected to multiple organizations, but I do not need to be active other than my main organization). I have no other information to share but I just feel it is important to second the concerns of others, and hope for a solution by Microsoft, because this red triangle really impairs the ability to use Teams as intended. It is a nuisance every minute of every day - I have no benefit from being constantly reminded that some org access needs re authentication, but would have every benefit being notified of new messages etc in my active organization. A permanent solution to this would be highly appreciated!

I also cleared the cache, and it helped for one day, but the warnings are there again the next day. It is really frustrating because it supersedes the other notifications, and I can't easily see if I have new Teams messages.

    Hello EphemeraDanica,

    Good morning!

Thank you for publishing in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you. Based on the description you have shared; we understand thatTypically, the red alert triangle icon with exclamation mark usually indicates that there is an account issue with the organization, network or your Anti-virus. It usually doesn't appear on the web app, https://teams.microsoft.com/. Check on web if you have any sign in issues.

You could however try clearing the Teams cache and see if there's any difference or try signing out then sign in and select the org that has the warning sign.

To clear the Teams cache, you may follow the instructions on the link. Reference: Clear Teams cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft LearnHowever, to better understand the problem and provide a solution, we need more details from you, please provide us with the following information. Thank you. 1-Please are you using new teams if yes! the only way is to resolve the sign in issue of the affected account because in new teams

Ability to sign out from the notification area at the far right of the taskbar (system tray). No longer available.

2-Please may i know which windows are you using? Is it window 10 or 11, are you using new teams or classic teams We look forward to your reply. This requested information will help us narrow down the scenario and find the right troubleshooting. We will continue to assist you based on the information you provide. I have the same issue. Unfortunately it is an organization to which my account is associated that really does not work anymore (it's a previous customer). I tried to remove that organization but it asks me to use the authenticator and I no longer have access to authenticator for that organization. So it won't let me remove the organization. I understand that that is not under Teams control but the symbol does not let me see my status on all the accounts and organizations I'm actually logged in and are working properly. Can I just disable the display of the notice? Or can it be displayed only when that is the selected organization?

    Thanks,

    Cristine

    Hello Eben-Ezer Tres MSFT.
I have the same behaviour as Nicole Otte.

Clearing the cache works just temporary until the Conditional Access policies of the customer tenant, to which I'm also connected in Teams, forces me to re-authenticate. From that moment the exclamation mark on the Teams icon in the task bar re-appears and as a consequence it covers the badge notifications (until I re-authenticate on the mentioned tenant). Since I don't work daily on that customer tenant the exclamation mark starts to bother me.

    Regards,

    Phil
