MS Teams changed its layout today, and now some chat messages are hidden and I don't see them except through email. How do I get it back to the original layout?

This morning a notification popped up to change the layout of Teams and I couldn't get past it to get on with my work unless I accepted it. Now I find some chat messages are invisible. I get email notifications, but when I go to the relevant Teams space, the messages in the notification are not visible. How can I restore it to the original layout and stop missing messages?

Based on your description regarding "MS Teams changed its layout today, and now some chat messages are hidden and I don't see them except through email. How do I get it back to the original layout? "Kindly try to set your account to separate to see if it will make any difference. To check this, click on Three dot (next to your notification icon on the right top corner) -->Settings--> Chats and channels--> Then make sure thatViewing chats, Teams and channels set to Separate.

And also, under Chats and Channels listsTurn off or disable Filtersand Discover

If the issue persists, would you mind offering below information:

May I please confirm that you get same situation in both Teams for Desktop and Teams on Web (https://teams.microsoft.com/v2/)?
May I know if you get same behavior after clearing Teams cache and resetting Teams app? Kindly see the steps for New Teams Clear Teams cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
May I know the Teams version you are using? To check this kindly go to three dots ... (top right corner) --> Settings --> About Teams
Would you mind providing the screenshot which shows your Teams Interface?
