Currently, the only export option available at this time is the .olm archive file in Outlook for Mac. See Export items to an archive file in Outlook for Mac
How do I export an Outlook for Mac Contact List to a CSV file that can be imported into Excel for Mac?
Hi, I am trying to export a list of my email contacts with their names to a CSV file that I can import into Excel for Mac and have segmented names and email addresses in separate columns so that each person receives a personalized email. This is to upload to a third party web app for creating/sending holiday cards. I am flabbergasted and can't believe this isn't super easy to do. The Export function in Outlook for Mac is evidently only for archiving. Anyone have a clear set of steps that let's me do this? Thank you!

2022-12-28T03:05:50+00:00 Any other thoughts on how to solve this? Frankly I am dumbfounded that this is such a hard thing to do, given the integration of Microsoft Office products and the maturity of them on the Mac platform. Hoping that you have some other ideas or someone else in the community has a solution. Thank you!

2022-12-26T17:27:57+00:00 Hello, thanks for your help. I am using Outlook for Mac 16.68 and I am running it on Office 365 with an Exchange server. I am using Excel for Mac v 16.68 as well. My Mac OS is 12.6.1
I don't want to archive my contacts. I just want to extract 121 names and emails as a Contact List from my overall contacts so I can load them into another application as a CSV file.
So I created the Contact List, highlighted the names in it and exported it to my desktop. However, when I tried to use the Open function in Excel, there was no option for All Readable Documents and the .olm archive file is greyed out.
What do you suggest next?
Thanks for your help.

Before we proceed, I would require more information to assist you accurately.
- What is the type of account? Is it a POP, IMAP, Exchange account?
2. May i know your outlook for Mac version?
3.Did you try those steps via this KB How to export contacts via OWA - Outlook | Microsoft Learn
4.Did you try to export contacts from Outlook for Mac to Excel, you need to perform a two-step process.
First, you need to extract Mac Outlook contacts in OLM file and then export it into CSV file format to access in Excel. (Convert OLM to csv)
Or i don't know your version but base on my test version you can do below steps:
Part 1: Export from Outlook for Mac
- Open Outlook for Mac and click on Contacts.
- From the File menu, choose Export.
- A box pops up, asking you “What do you want to export?” Choose “Contacts to a list (tab-delimited text).” Then click the right arrow at the bottom.
- A Save box appears. In the “Save As” field, put the name you want to give your file. Make sure the “.txt” extension is at the end of your file name. Under “Where” choose your desktop. Then click the Save button.
- Outlook then exports your contacts. When the export is complete, click the Done button.
Part 2: Import to Excel
- Open Excel.
- From the File menu, choose Open…
- When the Open box appears, go to the bottom of the box and under “Enable” make sure it’s set to “All Readable Documents.” then in the top part of the window, find the .txt file you exported from Outlook to your desktop, and choose it. Then click the Open button.
- The Text Import Wizard opens up. Choose Delimited and click Finish. Your contacts open up in an Excel spreadsheet.
- Save it as Excel by going to the File menu and choosing Save As; under Format choose Excel Workbook.
