Outlook issues android
Hi, I have outlook set up on my personal cell as well as my work cell. On both phones Outlook is unusable which makes working while on vacation and on the road impossible. Please help, I'm so frustrated!
- I refresh the screen and no emails show up. Even though I have plenty of new emails on my desktop
- I've tried deleting the cache on both phones, uninstalling and reinstalling outlook and that doesn't work either
- I can't respond to emails
- I can't open attachments
- I can't forward emails
One phone is a google pixel 7 pro, the other one is a google pixel 6

Good day.
Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist.
I understand how frustrating it can be when Outlook isn’t working as expected on your Android devices. Let’s troubleshoot the issues you’re facing step by step:
No Emails Showing Up After Refresh:
- Sometimes, cached data can cause synchronization issues. To resolve this:
- Force close the Outlook app on both phones.
- Clear the app’s cache:
- On Android 10, go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Outlook. Tap Force stop, then tap Clear Data and Clear Cache.
- Reopen the Outlook app and sign in again.
- Check your internet connection to ensure it’s stable.
Unable to Respond to Emails, Open Attachments, or Forward Emails:
- These issues might be related to the app itself or your account settings.
- Try the following steps:
- Force close the Outlook app (as mentioned above).
- Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
- If the problem persists, consider resetting your email account within the Outlook app:
- Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Outlook.
- Tap Force stop, then reopen the app.
- Sign in to your email account again.
- If you’re using an IMAP or POP account, consider adding it as an Exchange ActiveSync account instead. This should help with calendar and contact syncing.
- Ensure that the app has the necessary permissions to access your calendar and contacts.
- If you’re still unable to respond to emails or open attachments, consider reinstalling the Outlook app from the Play Store.
Additional Tips:
- If you’re missing a specific feature in Outlook, you can provide feedback to Microsoft to help prioritize new features in future updates.
- For Microsoft 365 work or school accounts, reach out to your admin or technical support for further assistance.
- If your Outlook.com or Microsoft 365 account stopped syncing, follow the steps in the Microsoft Support article to troubleshoot the issue.
Remember to test the app after each step to see if the issue is resolved. If you continue to experience problems, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for personalized assistance.
I hope this helps let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions .
Best Regards

It can be frustrating when your Outlook tasks don’t behave as expected. Let’s troubleshoot this issue together! Here are a few steps you can take to address the problem:
Check Your Time Zone Settings:
- Ensure that your computer’s time zone is correctly set. If it’s off, it might cause discrepancies in task due dates.
- To verify your time zone, go to Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time.
Outlook Web App (OWA) Check:
- Access your tasks via Outlook Web App (OWA) to see if the issue persists there.
- Sometimes, discrepancies occur only in the desktop client.
- If the issue is specific to the desktop client, consider creating a new Outlook profile.
Update Outlook:
- Make sure your Outlook desktop client is up to date.
- If you’re not on the latest version, update it and see if the issue persists.
Task Due Date Adjustment:
- When you create a task and add a due date, the Start Date might also impact the due date.
- To maintain the due date when changing the start date, follow these steps:
- Open the task in its own window by double-clicking on it.
- Click on the Date Picker icon of the Due Date field.
- Hold the SHIFT key and click on the date you want as the new Start Date.
- When done correctly, the Start Date field will update, and the Due Date field will remain the same.
Visualize Due Dates:
- Sometimes, due dates appear incorrectly due to display settings.
- In Outlook 2019, you can adjust the Task Bar to show the Due Date instead of the default “Start By” date.
- Simply drag the Task Bar to the left to expand it, revealing columns like Start Date, Due Date, and Reminder Time.
I hope this helps let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions .
