Your Message can't be displayed right now - Office365 Webmail

While at work the last few weeks I will occasionally receive the error message that my message can't be displayed right now. This is through O365 Webmail (we do not use the thick client at work). Also, my MS Teams sessions becomes interrupted at the same time, which is also ONLY web version, and I cann't receive or send new messages. The only fix is to refresh both browser windows (using Chrome).

I have erased my cookies\history etc. on Chrome. This is becoming annoying. I am not aware of anyone else in the office experiencing this issue. Our network does not drop out during this time.

I am only using web versions of Teams and Office365 (via: outlook.office365.com/mail/).

Is this a Microsoft issue? Help!

Thank you

I just started experiencing this yesterday and it is making me crazy. Don't have time for this!!!

I am on a Firefox browser, Mac and the same exact thing is happening. I thought I fixed it yesterday by doing a number of these things, but it came back mid-work stream today. argggh!!

I am using a back-up Mac and a firefox browser and can read my emails on that machine but am still attempting to troubleshoot it on my main Mac.

    Very frustrating.

We have tried all of that, does not fix the situation. Same symptoms on Edge or Chrome, all history erased. I will call into support. Anyone else here experiencing the same issue?

Btw, I just tried logging in through the Bing interface -- the messages display now on my main mac using Bing. Maybe this is an effort by Microsoft to push users to the Bing workspace.

    Hello SumTimes684654,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

As per your given description, you may follow the steps as an initial troubleshoot steps:

    1. Browser Extensions/Settings:
      • Cause: Sometimes, browser extensions can interfere with web applications.
      • Solution: Try disabling your browser extensions temporarily to see if the problem persists. You can also test if the issue occurs in an incognito or private browsing window, which disables extensions by default.
    2. Browser Cache and Cookies:
      • Cause: Even though you've cleared cookies and history, there might be residual data causing issues.
      • Solution: Ensure you're clearing cache properly. You can also try resetting your browser settings to default. In Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data and ensure "Cached images and files" is selected.
    3. Network Issues:
      • Cause: Even though your network doesn't drop out, there might be intermittent connectivity issues.
      • Solution: Test your connection speed and stability using online tools like speedtest. You can also check if the issue persists when connected to a different network (e.g., mobile hotspot).
    4. Browser Compatibility:
      • Cause: There might be compatibility issues with Chrome or its latest updates.
      • Solution: Try accessing Office365 Webmail and Teams from a different browser (e.g., Firefox, Edge) to see if the issue persists.
    5. Microsoft Service Status:
      • Cause: There might be temporary issues with Microsoft services.
      • Solution: Check the Microsoft 365 Service Status to see if there are any ongoing issues or outages.
    6. Updates and Patches:
      • Cause: Outdated software or browser versions might cause compatibility problems.
      • Solution: Ensure that both Chrome and your operating system are up to date. Check for any available updates for your browser and apply them.
    7. Browser Profile Issues:
      • Cause: Your Chrome profile might be corrupted.
      • Solution: Create a new Chrome profile and test if the issue persists with this new profile.
    8. Web Application Issues:
      • Cause: There could be issues with Office365 Webmail or Teams themselves.
      • Solution: If the problem continues, consider reaching out to your IT department or Microsoft Support for further assistance. They might be able to provide additional diagnostics or escalate the issue.

    Note: Try with Bing/Edge browser.

If still persist the issue, I therefore believe that this issue should be further investigated by our online technical support team.
