How do I disable sending Emails from Outlook by just left clicking and pressing S

Hi!

I'm using Outlook 365 V2404.

Since some weeks when drafting a message, it regularly happens that I unwillingly send the unfinished Email by just left clicking anywhere in the drafting-window and simultaneously hitting the "s" key.

I can't find any documentation for this behaviour/short cut. I already disabled the Alt + s and CTRL + Enter shortcuts, but that hasn't disable the left click + "s" behaviour. This is really annoying, how can I disable this?

I have the same(ish) issue, but for me it's when I've selected text within the body of the email and accidentally hit the S key.

I'm a home-row typist, so my left hand is always hovering or resting slightly on the ASDF keys. When reading the draft of my email, I'll notice a couple things I want to correct/change. I select the word(s) to correct and while in the process of selecting them (holding down the left mouse button) if I accidentally hit the S key, it will send the email.

I'm not sure why I have a lazy S-key finger (maybe it's the weight of my wedding ring) but I can't imagine a world in which someone would want to send an email by highlighting text in the body of the email and hitting the S key.

I've had this problem in Windows 10 and 11 on at least 4 different machines over the last few years. Always while using Office 365 subscription version of Outlook.

    Crazy.

    Hi RcMattW,

    Good day.

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist.

The only shortcuts for sending email are Alt + s and CTRL + Enter and these are the ones you are already disabled. I tried to reproduce your behaviour with leftclick+s but the mail wasn't sent. So to help us narrow down the issue that you are facing kindly try the following troubleshooting steps.

    1. You can try to Repair your office application
    2. Create a new Outlook profile: To create a new profile, use the profile picker:
      1. Hold Shift while starting Outlook.

**Tips:**You can also use one of these alternative options to access the profile picker:

        - Using a command line switch, right click the Windows Start button and select **Run**. In the Run dialog box, type: **Outlook.exe/profiles** and then press **Enter**.
        - While Outlook is running, select **File** > **Account Settings** > **Change Profile**. Outlook will restart.
    2. On the profile picker dialog box, select **Options**.

Choose profile dialog box with name of the new profile. **Note:**Before selecting New, consider selecting the check box for "Prompt a profile to be used." If this is enabled, you will get a prompt every time you start Outlook to pick which profile you want to open. This is helpful when you have multiple profiles and need to switch between them. 3. Select New.

Choose profile dialog box with the name of the new profile and no options are selected. 4. Type a name for the new Outlook Profile and select OK.

Enter a profile name. 5. Once the new profile is created, you will need to add an email account to the profile. In the add account dialog, you can optionally add more accounts.

Select an email address from the dropdown.

If the issue persists is better to reach out to the Microsoft technical Support team they will have a better view of your issue from the backend and logs side.

We are looking forward to your response! Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day!

    Sincerely,
