How to distinguish between Changetype: "Updated" in Microsoft Graph for Change Notifications for deleted user

I am new to Microsoft Graph Change Notifications. By exploring relevant questions I came to know that when a user is deleted it is a "soft delete" and hence a ChangeType: "Updated" is sent in the graph notification.
However, what I don't understand is how do I differentiate whether that notification is for a deleted user or lets say for example a user's name change. I receive notification in both cases but I want to only process for the soft-deletion.

    Hi @Zain ,

    Thanks for reaching out.

I understand you are facing issue while distinguish between updated users and deleted users.

Your understanding is right here, when user is deleted, it is not deleted permanently for next 30 days and still exists in the directory and can be restored within 30 days.
After 30 days, when user is deleted permanently from the directory, then only you will get another notification with change type "deleted".
Unfortunately, as of now as object still exist in the directory, you will get change type "updated" in the notification.

I would suggest you post this idea at the Azure Feedback Portal, which is monitored by the product team for feature enhancements to change the type to distinguish the soft deleted user.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks,
    Shweta
