Does Azure AD support "plus addressing" / sub-addressing?

Hey,

We want to connect Azure AD to a new system from one of our vendors, but they want us to map each of our users using 2 different emails.
They want us to use "plus addressing" / "sub-addressing", meaning that each one of our users would have two (similar) email addresses, kind of like this:

  1. someuser@keyman .com
  2. someuser+tag@keyman .com

Each email would be mapped to their system, but would be viewed as a "different" application by the SSO.

Google searches have shown me that Exchange 365 started supporting this feature in May '22, but I don't know if that means that Azure AD also has this feature available.

Thank you.

Azure supports it in the fact, you can enter a plus address:

However the importance piece is what your mail server is.
If the messages are set to a plus address and the mail system supports it, then you can use it ( Exchange Online, Google etc..)

If however you are sending mail using a plus address to an on-prem Exchange mail server, it wont work.
