[Word 2016] is it possible to disable the new spelling & grammar checker format ?

Because this new format is slowing down badly my 700 pages word document. Every action I take are delayed by a lag due to this checking.
Also, it takes ages to use a correction (yes, less clicks indeed, but more loading time for suggestions to appear).
Finally, sometimes it loading the pop up for suggestions despite I didn't want to. I guess I just clicked on a word. Before I had to right click and could choose when I wanted to be offered possible corrections. Now, I'm slowed down there again because of this unwanted loading time.

So, any way to revert and come back to the previous checking system, please (actually, i'm begging) ?

Thanks but not what I'm after. So I am officially the only one complaining about this subject (with Google there is a public place just like here, and you can find many other people having same complaints as you, unless your complaint is very strange). Is my complaint that strange ?! How many / what proportion are we to complain ? And more importantly, is Microsoft willing to do something about it ?
