Outlook for Microsoft 365 truncating long URL's

We have Safelinks enabled, and links send by Asana got quite long. Outlook for Microsoft 365 is truncating it to 2085 chars (thus not working) but In OWA works fine. For example:

  • Desktop link 2085 chars
  • OWA link 2767 chars

I know that I can add Asana to the exclusion list in Defender. But I want to check another solution.
I have read in many sources that in older Outlook the maximum URL length is 2083 characters. Is this also true for MS 365 version? If so, is there any way to get around this limit?

    Hi @Filip Skiba

From research I've come to the same conclusion. You will want to change your defender settings as you suggested to whitelist Asana.

See setting up policies (if you don't already have this documentation):

Set up Safe Links policies in Microsoft Defender for Office 365
