    I too had this problem. Then continued to have issues with the newer cumulative update. What finally fixed it for me after trying almost EVERYTHING, was making sure the app readiness service was set to automatic. In my case, it was set to disabled. Once I set it to automatic, started it - then tried to update again, things worked flawlessly. I hope this resolves your issue. Best regards.

    Detailed instructions for anyone else having this issue, click on your magnifying glass, type in services.msc. Find the app readiness service and right click on it. Set it to automatic, click apply, then start it and click ok.
