After forwarding an email with hyperlink via Outlook Desktop, the style in the anchor element will be removed and applied to additional span which causes the underline of the hyperlink to be shown.

Before forward:

After forward:

Outlook desktop version: Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2209 Build 16.0.15629.20200) 64-bit.

How can I remove the underline for hyperlink in a forwarded email? This issue only happens in Outlook desktop.

Thank you.

    Hi @Chloe Lim ,

As far as I know, it is by default that it will automatically get the underline to notice that it is clickable in Outlook desktop client.
So, there are different feature between Outlook desktop app, Outlook.com, and other email apps.

As a workaround, it is suggested you manually change the hyperlink styling inside Outlook itself:
Select the hyperlink and right-click on it, select Font, modify the hyperlink font color and set the underline style to none

If you want to remove the underline from all hyperlinks, refer to this link:

Thank you for your reply @Faery Fu-MSFT . However, I'm looking for a workaround that does not need manual work. Is there any way to handle it in HTML or CSS to prevent the underline from being added after forwarded the HTML email?
